Nearly there!!

Boy does time fly when you are having fun! It has been fun. Checking this and that. Will this be suitable? Do we need to replace the sleeping bag? The packing list has been trimmed down to 20 item groups, (from an original of nearly 40), then come all the extras. Battery chargers, inverters, sprare batteries for the torches, washing line, etc......etc.......etc. I think we are going to be overweight!!

The thing is that it is nearly time for us to be packing our bags to go and we still have not completed all that needs to be done.

We are steadily getting all the paperwork together, one piece still outstanding before we can apply for the visas, all things being equal it should end up in the email In-tray by the end of work today. (!)

Monday 20th, in the morning see Dick attending a training session at the MAPA offices in Newlands. This will mainly be about how to use the sat phone and the specifics of the 'home work' to be done on a daily basis. There are protocols as to how the folders and files are named, this is to facilitate ease of sorting and knowing which folder / file belongs to which team form which country. Caretha will also have to go on a training session at a later date.

On Monday 27th Dick should be winging his way to Johannesburg / Pretoria to organise the visas at the Ethiopian Embassy. Once these are in the bag then it will be a case of 'Hurry up and wait' for the day of departure!
